Our men's side advanced to round three of the Connacht Cup with a 4-0 home win over Sligo side Ballygawley Celtic. The first half was a pretty even affair until a mislaid pass on forty minutes fell to United striker Alan Callanan who coolly slotted home the opener. Craughwell went two up soon after the break when a Ballygawley defender directed a Kevin Molloy corner into his own net. Callanan then turned provider to set up Darragh o Connor for the third goal and that was quickly followed by an Eoin Fahy goal to settle the tie.
The U17 boys were defeated 3-2 away to Connemara side Cois Fharraige in wintry conditions at Carraroe. Craughwell levelled twice through Shane Gorman and Ethan O Brien. However the home side scored a late winner, somewhat against the run of play, to take the three points.Thank you to everyone who entered our Last Man Standing competition. It has been whittled down below 60 players after only two weeks of fixtures with some surprise results knocking a lot of people out. Keep an eye on our club Facebook page for updates.
