Our junior men's side bowed out at R4 stage of the Connacht Cup with a 3-2 defeat to Strand Celtic last Sunday morning at Coleman Park. Craughwell took the lead in the opening minutes when strikers Cillian Dolan and Kevin Molloy combined for the latter to finish well. United should have doubled their lead minutes later only to be denied by the woodwork but it was the Sligo side who equalised with the last kick of the first half. Celtic went in front with their first attack of note in the second half but Molloy levelled from the spot on the hour mark after a Celtic handball inside the box. The game looked to be heading for extra time but with little time remaining Celtic took a quick throw to catch United out of position and then finished clinically to snatch the win. Very harsh on Craughwell who matched their opponents for the entire match but an entertaining spectacle all the same.

The U17 boys advanced with a 3-2 home win over St. Bernards in their League Cup encounter. Shane Gorman, Alex Duggan and Fiachra Bond were on target for Charlie Duggan's side. The U15 girls had an excellent 1-0 league win over Colga in Clarenbridge on Sunday morning. Striker Katie McNamara put Craughwell in front midway through the first half with a fine strike over the keeper. United then held firm throughout the second half with some excellent defending to hang on for the three points.

Elsewhere the U13 girls were very unlucky to only draw 1-1 away to Moyne Villa with Emily Rabbitte scoring for United while the U13 boys were defeated 4-0 at home to runaway league leaders Ramblers.
