Club results from weekend of 6-7 February.   08/02/2016

Last Saturday, the Junior Men’s side drew 1-1 at home to Oughterard in their Division Four league match. Cillian Reidy gave United the lead with a fine headed goal but the visitors scored from the penalty spot late on to take a point. The game was significant for the Gallagher family with dad Mickey playing alongside his two sons Shaun and Benny (all pictured here). Craughwell remain in top spot albeit having played more games than their nearest rivals.

Meanwhile in the earlier game it was another son, Ryan Gallagher who scored a hatrick in the U14 boys 3-3 home draw against Salthill Devon. Salthill went two up before Craughwell responded on the stroke of half time with a fine Gallagher strike from outside the box. United leveled in the second half with Gallagher scoring from close range and with the home side now piling on the pressure it wasn't long before they were ahead with Gallagher grabbing his hat-trick after running all the way from the half way before beating the Devon keeper. However, with minutes remaining the away side leveled the match and the final 3-3 result was a fair reflection of both teams.

Well done to Gerry Lynch who won last weekend’s 50-50 Draw in Cawleys. Next draw in Cheevers this Saturday night with envelopes on sale in all the usual outlets.
