Craughwell United Notes 25/26 February   07/03/2023

Craughwell United's junior side drew 1-1 at home to Colemanstown United on Sunday morning. Both sides had chances in the opening spell but Craughwell went in front after twenty minutes when Eoin Fahy crossed for Joe Jackson to slot home. Cillian Dolan had a great chance to extend the lead when he rounded the keeper but couldn't regain his balance and the keeper recovered well to save at the post. The second half was a much tighter affair until Colemanstown managed to draw level with a headed goal and the game played out for what was a fair result for both sides. Best for Craughwell on the day were Eoin Fahy and Daniel Grealish.

Their heads never dropped and an opportunist strike by Keelin McNamara saw Craughwell trail by a single goal at the break. The energetic duo of Kelly Hallinan and Jessica McGlynn won the midfield battle in the second half and this laid the foundations for the comeback. Two excellent goals from the tireless Grace Keaveney and a stunning volley from Sara Craven secured the victory. An excellent overall performance saw player of the match Alannah Farrell ably supported by Ellie Brennan, Kelly Hallinan, Keelin McNamara, Jessica McGlynn, Sara Craven and Grace Keaveney.
