Craughwell United Notes 18/19 March   20/03/2023

Craughwell United U14 boys were defeated 4-1 by Corrib Celtic at Coleman Park on Saturday.  United were 3 down after a tough first half. In an improved second half Craughwell had more possession and pulled a goal back through an excellent Paul Keaveney free kick. The home side pressed but were unable to add to their tally and it was Corrib Celtic who concluded the scoring with a late fourth.

On Sunday the U12 Navy team put in a strong performance to secure a 3-1 home win against Loughrea. Jack Melia bagged the first goal of the match - played in by Cathal Byrnes, his shot was too powerful for the keeper who got hands to it but could not keep it out. Five minutes into the second half United extended their lead. A corner from Eanna Tormey was cleared to the edge of the box and Zach Wholihan hit the back of the net. Loughrea scored a goal with ten minutes still on the clock. Liam Ward netted United's third goal of the match, sealing the win.
