Club results from weekend of 24-25 October.   29/10/2015

The Junior Men’s side were 4-1 winners away to Kilshanvey United last Saturday with goals from Gavin O Toole, Brendan Gallagher and James Tansey with two. The U15 boys lost 4-2 away to Tuam Celtic while the U14 boys were defeated 5-0 by Mervue United in their Connacht Cup second round clash. The U13 boys drew 2-2 at home to Colga in their Premier League encounter with the United goals coming from Tomas Barlow and Gavin Kelly.

Also at Coleman Park, Lucy Duggan’s goal was not enough to save the U12 girls from a 2-1 home defeat to Corrib Celtic. The U11 boys would like to thank Colga for playing in a mini blitz last Saturday afternoon at Coleman Park. The competition was exciting with United winning three of the four matches played.

On Sunday, the U12 boys lost a close Connacht Cup match 2-1 to Hodson Bay Celtic in Athlone. Matthew Faherty scored the United goal but even after great second half pressure they couldn’t find the equaliser.

At Coleman Park, the U17 boys continued their entertaining football this season with an exciting 4-4 draw against Mervue United. The away side went ahead through a Mark Cunningham own goal but Craughwell responded brilliantly with three well taken goals from Eoin Fahy, Jonathan Boland and Oisin O Brien. However, Mervue themselves replied with three goals to take a 4-3 lead into the final quarter. Then up stepped Craughwell midfielder Jack Lally, who floated a beautiful free kick into the far corner giving the Mervue keeper no chance. Conor Roche (pictured) and Jack Lally were outstanding for Craughwell on the day.
